At the Podium
A social media innovator and digital storyteller, Scott Goodstein is the architect of two of the most effective, game-changing digital outreach programs of the Internet and Social Media Age. In 2008, he served as the External Online Director for Obama for America, creating and implementing an iPhone app, text messaging feature, and other interactive digital tools geared toward young voters. Leading up to the 2016 presidential primaries, Goodstein designed and oversaw Bernie Sanders’ internet and social media presence, turning the dark horse candidate into a household name and catalyzing unprecedented grassroots activism on Bernie’s behalf. (While Goodstein makes no claim to coining the phrase “Feel the Bern,” he did recognize its extraordinary power, and encouraged the candidate to run with it.) Goodstein is also the founder and former CEO of Revolution Messaging, a boutique digital strategy firm devoted to progressive causes, where his beliefs in transparency and heeding the input of consumers were put to work for clients like Blackout For Human Rights and the gender equality advocacy group UltraViolet.
Positioned at the intersection of digital technology and deeply human storytelling, Goodstein leaves audiences with concrete techniques for fine-tuning their brands and communicating effectively on digital platforms. Audiences from corporations to colleges learn to better harness the unruly power of the internet, mobile technology, and social media—and the necessity of humility, openness, and authenticity. A storyteller first and foremost, Goodstein recounts his successes (and failures) as the online voice of two of the most storied campaigns of our time, providing audiences with the tools to put their stories out into the world—and to make a lasting impact.
