About S.J. Tuohy
S.J. received his bachelor’s degree in Communications with a specialization in Journalism and Marketing from Loyola University in Baltimore, MD. For 3 of his 4 years as an undergrad, he earned letters as a member of the basketball team. During his freshman year, he was part of the first team in Loyola history to win a post-season game, and the second to win more than 20 games. Before graduating, he received his own bucket at the historic Allen Field House, something he claims he could “only dream of as a kid.”
After graduating early from Loyola, S.J. decided to further his academic life at Southern Methodist University, where he earned a master’s degree in Humanistic Studies while also playing football, twice being voted captain. He coached fall 2017 at SMU where the Mustangs obtained their best home record since 1982 and first winning season since 2011. Currently, S.J is special assistant to the head coach/assistant director of football operations for the Arkansas Razorbacks and pursuing his doctorate degree at Liberty University.
In addition to academics and athletics, S.J. has also played the piano for over 17 years and is an avid reader and writer with work appearing in several online publications. He serves on the boards of the Making It Happen Foundation and the Tempo Foundation while also volunteering for numerous organizations.
