About Ed Davis & Richard DesLauriers

On April 15th, 2013, two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring 280. In the hundred hours that followed, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis and FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard DesLauriers executed a manhunt for the bombers unlike any in recent history, ultimately capturing the surviving perpetrator on April 19th. These extraordinary events are chronicled in Peter Berg’s film Patriots Day, starring John Goodman as Davis and Kevin Bacon as DesLauriers, released on January 13th, 2017. (Watch a clip here.)

In a one of a kind program, Davis and DesLauriers recount their hunt for the bombers, and share with audiences their takeaways from the harrowing events of April 2013 – especially how cooperation and communication allowed the police department, FBI, and other federal, state, and local agencies to work seamlessly together to find the Tsarnaev brothers, attend to the bombing victims, and keep the city of Boston calm and informed. Audiences come away moved, inspired, and armed with leadership and communication techniques applicable to any situation.
