SoloPower Inc. on Monday announced that retired Gen. Wesley K. Clark — a former Democratic U.S. presidential candidate — has joined the company’s board of directors.
San Jose, Calif.-based SoloPower — a developer of thin-film solar energy panels — is in the process of hiring for its $340 million manufacturing operation being built in North Portland.
Clark, a former NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Europe who briefly sought the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination, is considered a “alternative energy champion,” according to SoloPower CEO Tim Harris.
