Last week, Montreal played host to the first International Startup Festival. It was attended by close to 1,000 participants from all over the world, many of whom were hopeful of leaving the drudgery of nine-to-five work to start their own entrepreneurial ventures.
Moving toward being a founder of a startup is the 2011 version of “take this job and shove it,” but the journey can be long, hard and confusing. That is one of the reasons why so many people attend such events.
