Relativity Media has pushed back the release of its Nicholas Sparks adaptation “Safe Haven” to February 14, 2013, positioning the Lasse Hallstrom-directed love story for success over Valentine’s Day weekend.
Pic was originally skedded to open June 1, 2012, but with Hallstrom yet to start casting, the production delay was inevitable.
“Safe Haven” follows a young woman who moves to a small North Carolina town in order to escape her past. She quickly falls for a loving widowed father who heals her heart and helps her escape the danger that threatens her.
Dana Stevens (“City of Angels”) wrote the script, which Jamie Linden (“Ten Year”) recently did a rewrite on.
