Palm Beach Daily News: Carson Kressley urges Old Bags Luncheon audience to embrace their flaws

Carson Kressley he who can take a banana peel and turn it into a stylish fashion accessory was the guest speaker at the luncheon fundraiser of the Center for Family Services.

The 14th annual Old Bags Luncheon took place March 8 at The Breakers.

The afternoon began in the Mediterranean Room with the silent auction of new and gently used handbags that is the genesis of the event’s name, then moved to the Venetian Ballroom for lunch and Kressley’s speech.

In his remarks, Kressley urged the more than 600 guests to ignore unrealistic body images, to pamper themselves and not to worry about flaws. “I think in our society, women hold themselves up to a standard that is, more often than not, unachievable. So, embrace what you’ve got. Everybody has something that is positive.”
