Best selling author Michael Lewis was on Squawk Box this morning talking for a segment they’re doing this week on what people are reading.

It took a bit to get Lewis through the more serious topics (the financial crisis), but once that was all over, he revealed a little bit about what he thinks about books and writing. For a writer, this is a more challenging topic than you might think.

For example, Lewis couldn’t share his favorite among all the books he’s written — “that’s like asking what my favorite child is… you may not believe me but it’s just not answerable.”

He couldn’t tell us which book he’d made the most money from either, Though he hinted that it was ‘The Blind Side’, ‘Moneyball‘, ‘The Big Short’, or ‘Liar’s Poker’ (that doesn’t really help).

But he did share some of his favorite books, which included Tom Wolfe‘s classic about the space program ‘The Right Stuff’ and George Orwell’s essays.
