Five questions for ‘Mr. CSI’ Anthony Zuiker
1 Why write a memoir?
After 12 seasons of CSI, 10 seasons of Miami and 8 seasons of New York changing the course of television history, we have really come full circle. Someone who has seen all the shows can read the rags-to-riches story behind the visionary of it all.
2 How did you frame it?
My father committed suicide the night CSI won the People’s Choice Award for best TV drama. Ironically, the person who called me about it is a real CSI. It really is the story of art imitating life and life imitating art.
3 What’s your favorite way to tell a story?
There’s no real medium like TV. You can sit behind a typewriter and make a script, then have the world see it come to life.
4 How did growing up in Las Vegas affect you?
It’s a microcosm of the world being built around you, and it teaches you to never stop dreaming big.
