Michael Moore says he’s coming to the aid of Occupy Wall Street. The author and filmmaker stopped by at the protesters’ Zuccotti Park encampment on Tuesday, where he told The News’ Jennifer H. Cunningham that he will donate some proceeds from his latest book, Here Comes Trouble, to the cause. He also said he’s working with Occupy Wall Street to bring wi-fi to the park and other demonstration sites nationwide.
“I’ll do what I can do,” said Moore, who explained that he came to the protests because “these bankers overplayed their hand. They were already rich, but filthy rich wasn’t enough.
“They are trying to turn our democracy from a democracy into a kleptocracy,” added Moore. “What you see here, and what you’re seeing across the country, are millions of people who’ve had it.”
Quinn’s not a ‘Real’ fan
Christine Quinn will be doing plenty of reality TV when the 2013 mayoral campaign heats up – but not this kind. A source at the GLAAD Amplifier Awards tells us the City Council speaker looked “unhappy” when she arrived at the Altman Building for the event on Tuesday night and was told by a handler that “The Real Housewives of NYC” was shooting inside. The insider says Quinn, who was billed as a special guest, “crossed her arms” and asked “which ones” were at the event before putting on her “pro” face and entering the soiree. (Turns out all the “RHONY” ladies were there, including newbies Heather Thomson and Carole Radziwill.)
A spokesman for Quinn denies the pol was put out in any way by the news. “Chris’ only displeasure was that her father, who is a big fan of all the ‘Real Housewives’ shows, wasn’t there to get an autograph,” he said, adding: “He’s asked other members of the ‘Housewives’ shows for autographs in the past.” Maybe he’ll glimpse his daughter on the show next spring.
