Saboura grew up in an atmosphere of high fashion, where he developed a keen understanding of what works and what doesn't. After graduating from college and training as an actor, he opted to pursue his love of fashion by working as a personal shopper at the famed Fred Segal, Hollywood's most exclusive specialty store. For seven years, Saboura had the pleasure of working with hundreds of celebrities—including Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston, and Brad Pitt—who came to rely on his extraordinary eye and impeccable sense of style. He shared his insights with his clients, teaching them how to use clothing to express their personalities and define their individuality.
Saboura's distinctive approach and expansive knowledge of fashion—covering the past, present, and future—are exceedingly evident during award season. His astute and delightful fashion commentary has entertained and educated audiences during ABC's American Music Awards, Countdown to the Emmys, E!'s Red Carpet Boot Camp, E! News Daily, and Countdown to the Academy Awards. He is also a regular fashion commentator for E!, MSNBC and CNN.
With a career that continues to rise, Saboura is a sought-after personal stylist for celebrities in the film, television, and music industries, and also works as a freelance wardrobe designer and consultant. He is the style/image host of ABC's hit series Extreme Makeover, where he is part of an elite team that is transforming the looks—and lives—of individuals throughout the country.
Saboura believes that style is not limited to people in the film, broadcast, and print media, and he is committed to helping all women develop an impactful and confident look that reflects who they are. His book, Sam Saboura's Real Style: Style Secrets for Real Women with Real Bodies, has been published by Clarkson Potter, the lifestyle imprint of Random House, and was released June 14, 2005. This is the first in a long list of projects that Saboura is planning for the upcoming year, including a line of undergarments for Rago Shapewear, specialists in cosmetic body-shaping foundations.
He is also developing a DVD entitled "Sam Saboura's Style Secrets," which will be available later in 2005.
