Exclusive Representation by Greater Talent Network
World-renowned author Jennifer Weiner made her sensational debut with The New York Times best-seller Good in Bed, the story of a smart, witty plus-size pop-culture journalist whose ex-boyfriend chronicles their ex-sex life on the pages of a top-selling women’s magazine. The following year, Weiner turned her attention to the love/hate affairs of sisterhood in her second novel, In Her Shoes, which instantly became a best-seller and rose to number eight on The New York Times best-seller list. Audiences around the world saw In Her Shoes come to life when the film version was released by Twentieth Century Fox in October 2005, starring Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette and Shirley MacLaine.
Little Earthquakes (2005) is a tale of romance, friendship and forgiveness as three very different women navigate the journey of new motherhood. Little Earthquakes reached number seven on The New York Times best-seller list during the first week of publication. Weiner’s subsequent novel, Goodnight Nobody (2005), is a whodunit tale of a suburban Connecticut housewife who fights crime between play dates, after finding one of the neighborhood supermommies dead on the kitchen floor with a butcher knife in her back.
The best-selling author's 2007 release, The Guy Not Taken is a collection of short stories following the tender, and often hilarious, progress of love and relationships over the course of a lifetime. From a teenager coming to terms with her father’s disappearance, to a widow accepting two young women into her home, Weiner’s 11 stories explore these transformative moments in our everyday lives.
Weiner released Certain Girls in 2008, the much-anticipated follow up to her bestseller Good in Bed. Entertainment Weekly said, "She makes being a fat, middle-aged woman in America appear not just acceptable but positively delightful." The 2008 release picks up with heroine Cannie Shapiro, and her now thirteen year-old daughter, Joy -- following their lives in a first-person narrative told from Cannie's and Joy's perspectives.
In Weiner's summer 2009 release Best Friends Forever, former childhood friends Addie Downs and Valerie Adler reunite in this hilarious, edge-of-your-seat adventure; a story about betrayal and loyalty, family history and small-town secrets.
Weiner brings her charm and wit to the lecture podium, discussing her books, personal experiences and women's search for a sense of self. With an unforgettable comedic style, she has become a favorite speaker that audiences absolutely adore.
Upon graduating from Princeton University, Weiner worked as a journalist for ten years before her first book was published. Prior to the success of Good In Bed, Weiner worked as a staff writer and columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where her stories ranged from profiles of Wendy the Snapple Lady and Adam Sandler to long Sunday stories about teenage drug abuse, sex and college students, and her grandmother’s gefilte fish. Her work has also appeared in Seventeen, Glamour, Redbook, TV Guide, YM and Salon.com.
Jennifer Weiner lives in Philadelphia with her husband and their daughters, Lucy and Phoebe.
