Taylor advises C-level marketers and executives at some of the world’s leading companies with current forecasting, branding, and market management engagements in businesses with primary interests in packaged goods, software, digital publishing, media, banking, customer service, business and financial services corporations.
Taylor has served as Chief Executive Officer of Yankelovich, Skelly & White; and later, was Executive Vice President and head of Hill and Knowlton’s flagship New York office. He was Chief Marketing Officer of Ernst & Young and also held similar positions at Gateway Computers, Iomega Corporation and The Lyle Anderson Company.
He was named one of America’s five leading business futurists by the Wall Street Journal, “Marketer of the Year” by Brandweek, and among its Distinguished Alumni by his alma mater, Michigan State. Virtually every major business publication in America and most in Europe and Japan have quoted him. Moreover, he has contributed articles to a variety of top, far-ranging national publications, notably the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the Economist, Bloomberg, CBS, ABC, Reuters, Advertising Age, Brandweek, Science, American Demographics, Consumer Insights, Fast Company, Inc., National Geographic, New York Times, and Public Affairs, among many others.

His latest book, Selling to the New Elite (with Doug Harrison and Steve Kraus) released in February 2011, exposes the lives and minds of America’s richest people, revealing what and how these titans of wealth buy; and how to sell to them. Taylor also co-authored (with Watts Wacker) The 500 Year Delta: What Happens After What Comes Next, The Visionary’s Handbook and The New Elite: Inside the Mind of the Truly Wealthy (with Doug Harrison and Steve Kraus). Taylor has an undergraduate degree in Rhetoric from the University of California at Berkeley and Masters and PhD degrees from Michigan State University. He is particularly proud of his honorary PhD in Futurology from MacDonald’s Hamburger University and serves a member of the advisory board of the Institute for Math and Science Education.
